Pond Management

We can provide pond management plans to improve your fishing. Good fishing is the result of correctly stocking and managing a pond.

In the Southeastern United States pond stocking starts with Largemouth Bass and Bluegills. There is a balance that occurs between the species, they also use the pond habitat efficiently. There are many variations and additions to this pond stocking scheme. Fish we have stocked and had good results with Redear Sunfish, Coppernose Bluegills, Hybrid Striped Bass, Fathead Minnows, Channel Catfish and many more.

Ponds that are neglected and out of balance can be improved with certain corrective stockings. Stocking predators in an overpopulated Bluegill pond can improve size and condition of the fish. Adding foraged species (minnows, etc) can improve you Bass and Crappie populations. Some other pond management techniques we use are including feeding, fertilizing, liming, weed and algae control, fish harvest regulation, introduction of cover and aeration.

Automatic Fish Feeders

Fish feeders increase the food supply to pond fish and increase their size and condition. Our fish feeders are solar operated and do not need electrical outlets. We sell Texas Hunter fish feeders.

Aerators and fountains increase the oxygen levels in the ponds and lakes. Increased oxygen increases feeding activity and weight gain in the summer and keep the fish out of stress during the hot, dry summar months. We sell aerators from 1/4 to 2 HP in size. We are dealers for Power House aerators and fountains.
